Embracing the Canvas of Faith: Choosing Love, Blessings, and Kindness
In a world colored by both shadows and light, the choices in focus shape the canvas of our lives. Some are drawn to the starkness of rejection, the weight of feeling used, the echo of hurt, and the taste of bitterness. These emotions can taint the heart and cloud the mind, obscuring the beauty that awaits.
Yet, in the symphony of existence, there exists another palette—one that holds the vibrant hues of love, the gentle whispers of blessings, the melody of thanksgiving, and the grace of kindness and patience. These colors, woven together, create a masterpiece that transcends pain and adversity.
In the Bible, the book of Colossians (3:12-14) reminds us: “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”
It’s a call to adorn ourselves with virtues that not only heal our own wounds but also illuminate the path for others. When we embrace love, we build bridges over chasms of rejection. In counting our blessings, we find solace amidst the echoes of hurt. Thanksgiving becomes the melody that resonates within, drowning out the bitterness that threatens to take root.
Kindness and patience become our compass, guiding us through storms and lifting others along the way. The Bible in Galatians (6:9) says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Here, the promise lies in perseverance, in persisting in acts of love and kindness, even when the canvas seems marred.
Choosing to focus on love, blessings, thanksgiving, kindness, and patience doesn’t deny the existence of pain. Instead, it grants us the power to transform it. It’s in these moments of choice that we truly understand the depth of our faith. As believers in Christ, we’re called not only to weather the storms but to be beacons of hope, shining brightly amidst the darkness.
Let us then, as believers, direct our gaze towards the light, painting our lives with the vibrant strokes of love, blessings, thanksgiving, kindness, and patience, creating a masterpiece of faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion to the teachings of Christ.
